You Will Reap What You Sow
Ministering: Pastor Tunde Bakare
Topic: You Will Reap What You Sow
Text: 1 Sam. 30:1-8
1 Sam 30:8 – God’s command to David was “pursue, for you shall surely overtake & without fail, recover all”. Omitting the phrase “without fail” from the passage is doing injustice to the word.
The theme of this programme is not a cliché, mantra or magical formula. It’s a word from heaven.
1 Cor. 9:24-27
There is no recovery without repentance
The book of Genesis wasn’t written to Christians alone, it’s a book showing universal principles that apply to everyone.
There are 3 principles that informed what happened to David here:
1. You reap what you sow (Gen. 8:22, Gal. 6:6-8)
1 Sam. 27:1-8
Luke 6:37-38
Achish – How is this?
Gath – Winepress
Ziklag – Pressed down, shaken together
David and his men had gone around raiding, plundering towns and cities. The law of sowing & reaping saw that the same happened to them
Where were David and his men when the Amalekites invaded Ziklag. They were looking to fight a battle that didn’t concern them
2. Don’t fight battles that don’t concern you. Don’t be a Meddlesome interloper (2 Chron. 35:22-26)
3. No matter the urgency to do otherwise, never leave your Ziklag unprotected.
