Biography

Dr. Mike Okonkwo was born on September 6, 1945 to the family of Pa and Ma Okonkwo of Ogbunike in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
After working briefly with the Nigerian Ports Authority in 1964, he crossed over to the banking industry and was one of the pioneer staff of the Martins street branch of African Continental Bank (ACB), Lagos from 1964 to 1966.

In November 1970, Dr. Mike Okonkwo had an encounter with Jesus, and for the first time, started attending Church services regularly in the United Church of Christ, (UCC) with headquarters in Enugu. He was ordained into the ministry in 1971 and took up his first pastoral responsibility in Lagos in November 1972 with UCC.

He later founded The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) on the 4th of January, 1981 which has grown into a megachurch here in Lagos, with branches all across the globe. Dr. Mike Okonkwo was trained in, and have several degrees and honours from various institutions including the Morris Cerullo School of Ministry, San Diego, California and the International Bible Institute and Seminary, Orlando, Florida all in the USA.
Dr. Mike Okonkwo is one of the founding fathers of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), its 1st National Secretary-General and former President. Our guest tonight is also a National Merit Awards winner and has been honored as a Member of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (MFR).

A humble man of God with a deep grace and pastoral heart for the gospel and God’s people, Dr. Mike Okonkwo is a Trainer of Trainers, a Mentor & father of fathers & Pastors, an Influencer & Philanthropist and an Author of several powerful bestselling books.
Devoid of the usual pomp and flamboyancy with many preachers today, Dr. Mike Okonkwo is not only a believer in the integrity of the Word of God, but also believes in integrity as a man of God, and have lived a life of unsoiled reputation.
