O LORD, send Your fire to us
Ministering: Pastor Faith James
Topic: O LORD, send Your fire to us
Text: 1 Kings 18: 1- 23
When we ask God to send His fire, we are asking God to remove the things that are hindering His work in our lives.
Asking God to send His fire is asking Him to bring judgment on everything in our lives that is detracting from His glory in our lives.
We need God’s fire to judge & remove the non-essentials (that cut us off from God) from our lives.
You need the fire of God to remove every hindrance from serving God from your life. It’ll help you decide which God you will serve.
There are enemies of revival that will seek to stop the fire of the LORD from coming into your life <http://www.isjames.org>.
Finding yourself in the midst of compromises is an enemy of revival. When you compromise & settle for less, you can’t have God’s fire.
We need to go to God & ask Him where we fit into His plan. This begins to prepare the way for God’s fire to enter our lives.
If we are burning for God individually, we will come together and burn bright & hot for the LORD!.
If God’s fire is burning in you, you won’t have time for any frivolities & distractions. Your service of God will be exemplary.
Another enemy of revival is a corrupt generation – as seen in our text of today (1Kings 18:1-23) with Ahab & Jezebel.
You need to expel the Jezebels (rebellion) from your life in order for revival to come <http://www.isjames.org>.
Another enemy of revival is confusion (as seen in the lives of the Israelites in the text). They didn’t know what to do in the face of Ahab’s corruption.
The devil thrives where there is confusion & darkness, we need to study & get knowledge in order to expel confusion from our lives.
Another enemy of revival in our lives is competition. These are the things that compete with God for our attention.
Some things need to be present in the church to foster revival: The first of them is *unity*. We need to banish sectarianism from our midst.
The devil knows that if the church is united, he can’t hinder our progress (Psalm 133:1).
Another factor that needs to be present in the church is sanctification (separation from the world).
2 Cor. 6:17-18 – We need to live sanctified lives. God demands separation of His people from the world.
Declaration/Prayer: The LORD will cause the person holding back your promotion & payments to release it now in Jesus’ name.
Prayer: The LORD’s time for your restoration has come now! <http://www.isjames.org>.
The strength of our prayers is another factor that fosters revival in the church (1 Thess. 5:17).
The fire of the LORD will consume, convict & judge everything that’s an obstacle to His move & revival in our lives.
